Iv Sedation
IV Sedation Anesthesia causes controlled, temporary changes in the central nervous system. These changes eliminate perception, consciousness, awareness and memory. Patients will not feel, know or remember any part of their dental treatment. Anesthesia also decreases normal reflex activity requiring protective measures to be taken on behalf of the patient by the anesthesiologist.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM SEDATION?
-Patients who are severely apprehensive about dental treatment
-Patients with an overly severe gag reflex
-Patients with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, or any other developmental delay
-Patients who are extremely fearful of needles
-Patients with a large amount of dental treatment to be completed in one to two visits
